Palm Reading

Palmistry is an old art that is usually associated with reading the lines of the palm of the hand.  Along with the lines, mounts, markings on our palm, palmistry also examines the hand’s colour, shape, texture and flexibility and the shape, length and position of the fingers.

Our hand and fingers hold a wealth of information about our past, present and future. By observing your hands, a skilled palm reader can uncover your personality, predispositions, aspirations, and character traits.

The left hand reveals where we come from while the right hand shows where we are going. The left hand tells us about our past, our potential, and innate qualities. The right hand reveals our character traits, values, and aspirations. Because it deals with the future, most palmist favour reading with the right hand.

Palm readers may examine the mounts, markings and various lines in the palm, but there are four main lines that they often focus on. These lines are:

Lifeline

The lifeline starts between the thumb and the index finger and ends its course under the Mount of Venus, at the base of the wrist. The lifeline reflects our journey or progression through life, indicating major events and traumas. The lifeline does not determine longevity, rather, it informs about our health and vitality.

Headline

The headline also starts between the thumb and the index finger, often connected to the life line before separating and moving across towards the centre of the palm or as far as below the little finger. The headline reflects intelligence, moral qualities, brain activity and adaptability. The strength and clarity of the head line shows mental capacity to make logical decisions.

Heart line

The heart line starts below the little finger and stretches out towards the middle finger or index finger. This line reveals your emotional dispositions. It indicates how you express emotions, whether you show love and affection or whether you keep your feelings private. This line relates to love and relationships and can change depending on our emotional state.

Line of Fate or Destiny

The line of fate starts from the base of the wrist and goes up towards the fingers. This line indicates your career path, your talents and your capacity to realise these talents, as well as your successes and failures. The line of fate also reflects your well-being and how you view life. The stronger and deeper the line, the more content you are with your lot in life.

Palm reading is not fortune-telling. It is a way to understand yourself, figure out your life’s purpose and gain insight into your traits and values so you can overcome obstacles and make informed decisions about your relationships, finances, career and family.
